How She Does It....How We All Do It

Tuesday, January 23rd, 2007 at 11:04 AM

I have recently had the good fortune to be invited to join an incredible group, The Women Gurus Network, founded by Sally Helgesen.  Business luminaries Susan Bird, Gail Evans, Connie Glaser, Margaret Heffernan, Bev Kaye, Susan RoAne, Jeri Sedlar, and Robyn Waters are members as well.  Our mission is to provide businesses and the media with access to an incredible group of thought leaders, authors and speakers.  You will be hearing a lot more about this group in the future.  Each and every member shares my passion for exploring the role of women in the world and in the work place and each brings a wealth of experience to the consortium.

Over the next few months I will introduce of each of these women to you starting with Margaret Heffernan.  Her new book How She Does It was released this week and Margaret has really captured the spirit of women entrepreneurs.  I was particularly interested in her exploration of gender differences since it relates so closely to my work but since the book is filled with interesting stories about, "Smart women with empathy and imagination who succeed not by aping men but by being themselves;" it is definitely a recommended read.

Margaret is an entrepreneur herself and in addition to running several companies over the course of her career she has produced television shows and music videos.  I look forward to seeing her next time I am in England!
